Simplicity spurs demand for Geonav’s EZNav Survey Software

Geonav is pleased to announce numerous orders of EZNav Survey Software packages. Customized for applications that included vertical seismic survey, deployment and tracking of acoustic current-meter strings, FPSO position monitoring and EM seismic surveys, each order has taken unique project parameters into consideration while keeping one goal in mind; keep it simple.

In some instances, Geonav has worked in conjunction with clients to train offshore operators at ETS’ training facility and commission systems on the vessel.

Geonav Marine Systems Integrates GPS and Fiber Optic Gyro Technologies

I-Compass Technology to be Launched at Houston’s
Dynamic Positioning Conference

Geonav Marine Systems announces the public debut of the
I-Compass at the Marine Technology Society’s Dynamic
Positioning Conference which is being held in Houston on
October 7 and 8, 2007.

I-Compass provides FOG performance at a mere fraction of the
price of traditional FOG technology. Designed for
high-accuracy applications such as those required for offshore
survey vessels, the new I-Compass features a unique
integration of a Fiber Optic Gyro (FOG) with a Global
Positioning System (GPS) sensor to provide reliable and
accurate heading, pitch and roll measurements. Sustained
high-accuracy heading through short-term GPS outages, with
50 Hz data output rates, make this a unique survey tool.
Integrating FOG and GPS technologies takes advantage of
absolute heading values to convert the rate compass from
relative to true north heading with an accuracy of 0.15° rms.
Pitch and roll values are measured to an accuracy of 0.2° rms.
I-Compass also allows for an improved rate of turn response of
up to 100° per second with improved stability compared to
autonomous GPS heading sensors.

  ETS Supports Child Advocates

Child Advocates has become a leader in the ongoing fight
against child abuse. Twenty years ago, three individuals,
armed with $5,000 and using a kitchen table as headquarters,
created the organization. They served 18 children that first
year. This year, Child Advocates plans to serve more than
1,925. Child Advocates mobilizes court appointed volunteers to
break the vicious cycle of child abuse. They speak up for
abused children who are lost in the system and guide them into
safe environments where they can thrive.

With the help of generous contributors, Child Advocates has
recently released the book Just For Now: Kids and the
People of the Court.
Available in English and Spanish, this
informational picture book is a must-have communication tool
for anyone working with children 6-12 in the court system.

We welcome two new additions to ETS
Rentals family:

1. Kongsberg oe14-500/501 HDTV HD-SDI Color Zoom
    Camera
- The oe14-500/501 underwater HDTV camera is
designed for all general purpose ROV inspection tasks.
HD-SDI video output allows conversion to interface with a
SM fiber or the camera can be supplied with an SM fiber
output. In addition to HDTV video, the camera has an
inbuilt 2.7 mega pixel digital stills capability. A water
compensated optical zoon lens provides a close-up
inspection capability combined with the flexibility of a 10x
magnification for powerful stand off inspections.

2. Kongsberg oe14-208 Digital Stills Camera - The
oe14-208 (PAL and NTSC) is a new generation digital stills
color camera. Each image is framed using real time video
and is temporarily stored in on-board memory. The image
can then be uploaded on the surface using a rapid USB link.
At 5 million pixels, ISO 50-400 equivalent, and 4x optical
zoom, this camera is a worthy addition to the ETS rentals
    family.

Innovatum SMARTRAK Pipeline & Cable Tracking

Packing BIG performance into a small package

Geonav proudly presents Innovatum SMARTRAK Pipeline & Cable Tracking. Unmatched in size, weight and power requirements, the SMARTRAK is small enough for one man to handle at just 24 cms long, 9 cms in diameter and only 7 Kg for the subsea unit, and just 36 cms long, 4 cms diameter and 1.1 Kg for the sensors (weights are given in air). It uses 24 volts DC power at 850mA or 110VAC. These features make this pipeline and cable tracking tool ideal for deploying from towed sleds or small ROVs.

The SMARTRAK includes a Tritech altimeter, laptop and wheeled transit case and comes preloaded with automated calibration routines. Improved performance allows pipelines as small as 4” in diameter to be tracked to a depth of three meters (10 feet) under ideal conditions. A tone generation option is available for smaller targets such as magnetized passive cable. The SMARTRAK has a depth rating of 1,000 meters, with deeper units available by request.
