COURSE MATERIALS
The APOS course will utilize a simulator that may be installed on the attendees'
computer. Attendees wishing to avail themselves of this utility should bring a laptop
computer. All attendees will be provided with a copy of the APOS simulator,
operating software and manual.

WHERE THE COURSE WILL BE HELD
The training course will be held at the offices of Equipment & Technical Services
(ETS), located close to the Beltway 8 and Richmond Avenue, in west Houston. The
courses will start at 8:30am and will finish at 4:00pm.

WHAT THE COURSE WILL COST
The registration fee is $550 inclusive of course materials, attendance
certificate and lunch. A 10% corporate discount is available for three or more
registrations to any individual or combination of courses.

COURSE INSTRUCTORS
Course instructors have been chosen from individuals with substantial industry
experience and include:

  Jim Cain

Jim Cain holds a B.S. Degree (Honors) in Meteorology and a M.S. Degree in Physical Oceanography from Texas A&M University. Jim has spent over thirty years in the offshore survey business, primarily in geodesy and navigation. He has given numerous lectures and presentations on Geodesy and GPS at meetings of ION, SEG, and Master Class Seminars’ Offshore Survey Workshops, as well as many other venues.

   
  Ian Florence

Ian Florence has worked in the offshore survey industry since 1980, starting off in the seismic industry before moving to survey and positioning in 1984. Ian is recognized as an expert on subsea positioning operations. Prior to working for Kongsberg Simrad he was the Project Surveyor for Subsea Offshore working on the Atlantic fields for BP. He has been with Kongsberg for seven years where he heads the operational support department.

   
  Dave Wright

Dave Wright served in the British Army from 1971 to 1978, in the Royal Corps of Signals. In 1982, he joined Oilfield Hydrographic Projects and started working in the offshore industry as an electronic technician. Between 1985 and 2001, he worked with several major survey companies, gaining extensive field experience in GPS, multibeam bathymetry and underwater positioning. Dave joined Kongsberg in 2001 where he is an operational support engineer.

   
   

CANCELLATION
ETS reserves the right to cancel courses if there is insufficient interest in which cases
registrants can either choose an alternate course or receive a full refund. Any
cancellations made prior to the scheduled course date will be refunded in full.
Cancellations on the day of the course or no-shows will not receive any refund but
will be offered a place on a future course subject to availability.

TO REGISTER
Each course is limited to twelve people and places will be assigned on a first-come
first-served basis. Organizations are not required to register individual names. To

be by check, which should be mailed to the same address.
